Derek:
Derek froze as he listened to Miranda talk to him. "Yes, of course," he
replied, but something inside him was nagging at him, but he ignored it.
Kat's happiness was all that mattered. He backed off disengadging himself
from Patrick and retreating.

Julia:
Julia flinched in surprise. Who was Derek talking
to??? And he was leaving???
"Derek, listen to me." She poured her
strength into the link she had with him "Derek, Kat's in
danger, we have to help her!"
In desperation she started projecting herself out as well,
using the men's location to start with and extending herself
"KAT!!!"
Her body flinched on the physical realm and the Archangel
actually came close to cursing as he came out of it long enough to tell the
Sister "Something's wrong." Then he dove back into the link.
Whatever was at work here was Dark. Only two things
it/she/he hadn't counted on.
The Power of God.
Julia manifested in front of Derek and she reached up,
turning his gaze toward hers, repeating herself "Derek, LISTEN
to me. Kat's in danger! Help me!"
Then she latched on to the feint echo of the voice that
was neither hers, Derek, or the others and started forward.
"Mess with my family?" She growled and rolled up a sleeve
and, as if grabbing a rope and wrapping her arm around it to get a better hold,
she locked on to the voice that was trying to order Derek to abandon Kat.
Then she went with her gut instinct and called out to the one responsible.
Who else could have done it? The 'girl' had been the only one around and for
some reason when Kat first disappeared, had stayed clueless in the bathroom?
Not.
"MIranda, when I find you you'll be lucky if ALL I do is
spank the hell out of you! Let them GO!"
"Julia, no!" Michael yelled, looking at the two beside him
before passing his hand over Derek's to wake him up. He could only pray
that whatever hold that had Derek would snap when he realized the new
danger.
Julia looked back and extended her hand toward the two now
remaining, blue gaze hard and determined "I'm not leaving without
her!"
Both spirit and Angel reached back for
her.
