Julia opened on eye and then the other, only to reach over
and turn the alarm off before it went off and look at Derek with a half sleepy
smile.
She had woken up in his arms and was wondering how to slip
out without waking him up so that she could go downstairs to make sure Kat ate
something before they left for her school and give him an extra hour to catch
some zZz's.
She gave his lips the barest of kisses and started to slip
out of bed to go get dressed, unable to keep from smiling as she remembered last
night - or technically earlier that morning as they had stayed up past
midnight.
