Derek:
Derek moved his legs over the edge of the bed sitting up completely. He
stretched his neck and rubbed his hands across his face. "No, I'm awake I
might as well get up," he told her smiling slightly. "Yes, I know I've had
your coffee before. Perhaps, we should give Nick's a try the next time we
need to remove barnicles. My only qualm about that is that it might damage
whatever it is we are trying to salvage." He watched as she left and then
got up and headed for the shower. Most of the soreness from a few night ago
had completely gone away and aside from not being fully awake he felt pretty
good. Once showered and shaved he dressed and headed to the kitchen meeting
Kat on the way. The little girl looked as though she had been wide awake
for hours. He smiled at her, "Good morning Kat."

kat:
The little girl smiled back, "good morning." She wasn't so worried about
him being upset anymore. He seemed to be in a pretty good mood as they
entered the kitchen together.
