"Yes everyone's fine," Derek assured her.
"What's the matter," he asked noticing that there was definitely something
not right in her tone. When he heard the news he groaned slightly. "What
the Hell is he doing there?"
Just like Sloan, showing up unannounced at the least convenient time. And
his mother? She didn't often drop by without notice either.
"Is my mother all right," he asked suddenly, concern filling his voice, "ask
Jonathan or Sloan," he added.
Julia turned to Sloan and asked.
"She's fine." Sloan answered "Is that Derek?"
He looked like he was about to reach over for the phone but Julia put her
ear back to the receiver and continued to talk to Derek "He says she's fine.
If you ask me he probably brought her as backup for whatever it is he's up
to."
She's had her moments with Sloan in the past and although she had nothing
against him, there were just some times that he rubbed her nerves the wrong
way. And he was doing a good job of it now.
"Reese and Sam are here too but I don't know where Milo is." She continued
with Derek before lowering her voice so that Sloan wouldn't be able to hear
what was said "Come home Derek."
Julia knew that he was more than capable in taking care of himself but she
just had to see it with her own two eyes, had to touch him, for it all to
really sink in right now. She remembered the feeling she had had that woke
her up earlier and still wasn't convinced that nothing had happened.
"And Kristen and Philip are fine. Philip is being checked out of the
hospital, having had a dislocated shoulder and I sent a driver over to pick
them up. I'm going to have someone drive Sam over to their house to get
some clothes and things so they can stay overnight here at least."
Oh and your ex-girlfriend......... she thought before sighing softly and
pushing that subject away. Neither one of them needed that problem right
now.
"Just come home." she finished, her voice low again, not adding what she was
thinking with Sloan so close.
