"Get us out of here," he told Nick and leaned back.
He had been feeling relieved and victorious until he
discovered the news of the uninvited guest, not his mother of course, just
Sloan.  His mother was always welcome.

Nick hopped in and put the UV in gear.  He heard Derek's tone of voice and
knew that something unpleasant was waiting for them at the house.  He
couldn't help but look in the rear view mirror and ask.  He was pretty sure
Derek would be going ballistic if had to do with Julia but he wanted to make
sure  "Julia's okay, isn't she?"

It took all of 12 minutes to get to the house.  A record even for Nick.
