Derek would have been perfectly happy to have it out with Sloan in private,
however he didn't have the time or energy to fight with both Sloan and Julia
at the same time and he knew that's where it was headed if he insisted on
speaking with Sloan alone. "There's isn't anything to discuss in regard our
wedding," Derek informed him. "You have no say so in it. What ever else it
is you wish to discuss you may do so here." His face was turning slightly
red, but he was still able to control his voice.

Sloan had had enough.

"This is a Legacy matter and there are three in here that aren't Legacy
members. Unless you want to be removed as Precept of this House I suggest
you follow me and we take care of this before Cross gets his hooks into both
of you because that's going to be the first thing he'll be after when he
finds out Julia's had full run of the place without any kind of clearance."

Can't they see he was trying his damnest to keep things from blowing up
around them??

Julia paled at that, staring at him for a horrified moment before seeming to
draw into herself and relenting. She couldn't be the reason Derek lost his
position. If Sloan wanted to talk to him that bad, alone, then she'd wait.

Barbara saw her expression and squeezed Derek's hand, her tone soft "Go.
I'll make sure Julia's all right."
