Sloan listened to what Julia was saying...... and had to admit she was
right. What they - no, what he had almost made Derek do..... and all in the
name of 'right'.
"You're right." he said, tone sincere as well as apologetic.
The admission made Julia stop and turn.
"About which part... the Council and Cross needing a serious cleaning out or
the part where I call you an ass for making it out to look like the only way
to keep me safe was to lie to people?"
"Both."
He looked at both of them "Keep things as they are. Let them make a
decision on what and who you are and if they have a problem with the rest,
they can talk to me. Or Patricia as I'm sure she can give some insight from
the wife's POV..."
"Just don't be mad at Derek.. it was my fault."
Julia looked at him, voice low "Get out."
He looked at Derek and left.
Derek:
Derek was rather surprised at Sloan's sudden revelation, not to mention the
fact that he was a wee bit miffed about it. All of this could have been
avoided if he'd only seen the light earlier.
He turned his dark eyes back to Julia, his jaw tight. He considered
apologizing, but changed his mind. Instead folding his arms across his
chest and waiting for her to speak.
