"I thought about keeping with our tradition and giving it to you after the
ceremony," Derek told her, his own eyes shining. "But then I decided that
I'd rather do at least one thing in the usual fashion." The look in her
eyes reached the very depths of his soul and that made him even happier that
he'd made that decision.
She chuckled softly and brushed her lips against his once again before
pointing out "We better do one other thing along usual lines... or we're
going to be late for our own wedding."
Julia slipped her hand into his and squeezed it. She didn't know why but
the whole thing hit her in a surreal way in that she hoped that if she were
sleeping or dreaming..... that noone would wake her. It was a feeling she
had experienced when she had first returned to the House, and again when she
had first admitted to herself how she felt about Derek. It was hard to
explain but, at first, she was secretly afraid that she would 'wake up' in
the other realm and everything that had happened would have been a dream or
something. Now.. now it was just a sense of awe because she didn't feel
like.... well she wasn't too sure on some level and in small measure, what
it was that Derek had found in her that he had fallen in love with. She
wasn't classy... she had money, sure, but she never was one to dress up in
Armani or designer fashions. She was just.... her. She had more fun in the
simpler things than going on cruises and fanning herself in that whole
'feminine flower' way a lot of women picked when give the choice between
lifestyles.
But whatever she did.. or whatever had happened that blessed her with
him.... she was thankful, and knew she always would be.
"Want to go home and get ready?"
