Kat slipped out of her chair and walked around the table a few seats to
where Nick was sitting.  She then crawled up into his lap.

"Hey," she said cheerfully as she settled herself there.

"Hey yourself," Nick grinned as he moved to get them both comfortable before
teasing "Enjoy the veggies?"

He made it so Kat could recline against him as if he were a lazy boy, seeing
the sleepiness in her eyes but wisely not saying anything.

Alex saw and smiled to herself.  They would be heading out soon.
