 Philip had just taken another drink and had to cough a little at the
 end
 before asking with shock, although he barely remembered to keep his
 voice
 down "What? Jane? Attacked Amber?  Are ye sure?"


  "I wish I wasn't."  Kristin leaned closer to Philip as continued to
speak quietly.  "Amber showed me the mark Jane left on her."  Blinkin
back tears, she took a deep breath.  "Jane would never, ever do
anything like that; I can't even begin to guess at what could be
wrong-but after the council...I have to find out."

  Suddenly Kristin realized how close she was leaning to Philip.
