"We shall start from the beginning, or in this case, the end," Lin said
humorlessly. "Give us, if you would, a first hand account of your
demise."
Julia's fingers ran cold and she bowed her head a
little. She thought she had been prepared for this part but looked at
Derek, seeing the quick flash of pain that was quickly hidden from others in his
gaze. Then she straightened and, continued to stand, faced the
tribunal.
She knew he meant Ireland and what had happened there, but
she wasn't going to make it easy on him and raised her chin a notch "Which time,
Sir?"
Julia had, in fact, died twice. Once in Ireland and
once while offering herself when Derek had died, so that he would continue to
live.
