Rachel was walking down with the tray back to the
kitchen when she passed Julia and Derek on the stairs.
They both looked a little angry. As she went in to the
kitchen she looked at Phillip and asked "What has
gotten our newly weds so edgy? Looks like they are
about to have thier first marital argument."
"Nope," Philip replied with the same grin "They're jus' havin' a Legacy
discussion. Jus' like old times, eh Nick?"
He motioned for Rachel to join them even as he gave Kristin a reassuring
wink and went back to eating.
He was about to take a bite of his sandwich when he explained how the team
had operated in the past. When Derek was in a particularly stubborn mood,
Alex, Nick, Philip or all of them would step back and wait while Julia
talked to him. Things always seemed to work out better when they did that.
"Ye know," he added thoughtfully "We should 'ave seen somethin' considerin'
how it all ended up. Hind sight being 20/20 I should have seen th' signs
between them."
Then he took a bite of the sandwich and chewed.
