Megan found Julia's vehicle and jimmied the lock open and then got in.   "Amazing what one picks up while working on different stories." she mumbled as she then closed the door and worked on hotwiring the thing.   She saw the cell phone and used it to call a cab for her at a specific place.  She can't dump the car in the bay, that would cause too much media.  But if she ditched it in the woods or something where most people don't bother going, well that would work much better.   She then hung up and started the vehicle, driving to the spot she knew wouldn't be bothered for weeks to come.   It was an hour before she was finished and heading toward her house to call Derek and another hour before she actually did call him, changed and dressed in something more, appropriate for what she had in mind.  Not obvious, but hinting.   "I'd like to speak to Derek Rayne please." she said once someone answered at the house and then waited.
