"You spoke with Julia," Derek said completely taken aback by this
revelation. Julia had said nothing about going to meet with the woman.
"Yes, she and a friend of hers stopped by earlier."
She'd leave it at that, not bothering to mention the paper unless she had to
later.
"But if you're busy," she said, letting a small measure of disappointment
sound in her voice, as if it had taken a lot for her to call in the first
place and it was doubtful she'd try again "I'll let you go."
