Megan tilted her head to the side for a moment "But then again, that sounds out there too but what would you expect? The woman was dead, Derek had moved on and started a relationship with me so obviously his feelings for her had been laid to rest and now she's back and pregnant and Derek is an honorable man that takes care of his responsibilities. Had she not come back so conveniently I would be with him now. You know what they say; hell and fury and all that."
Rachel just entered the room and heard Megan's comments. She put a hand on each of the couple's shoulders to let them know she was there for them. She sat down next to them and listened to the interview conducted in the other room. Megan stood up "Does a person check up on someone if they don't care about them? He told me, Julia. He TOLD me it was because you were back that things changed between us!" Julia refused to show her reaction to what the woman said, her chin held in that way that indicated she wasn't going to let anyone see how Megan's words affected her. But one thing was clear to her. The woman wasn't insane. She was rationalizing everything she did and wasn't in the least bit sorry -- except for the fact that she didn't succeed.
