"No matter how loudly the opinion is being expressed," Derek said thoughtfully. He moved back from Julia slightly and looked down at her.
"When did he tell you about his father?" A shadow passed over her eyes, of remembered shock, disappointment in Robert Boyle at finding out the truth about the man and then the anger she had been sworn, along with the truth, not to tell another living soul by Nick himself as to what had really happened in the Boyle household when he was growing up. >From the way Derek was speaking he already knew and she looked at him thoughtfully. Nick had made her promise not to tell what she knew but if he had finally told Derek.... "Nick told me some things back then. Something he made me promise not to repeat until he got to the point he could tell you." she said, not breeching the promise but still able to discuss it with him this way. She raised her chin and met her husband's gaze as she shrugged and admitted "It was something he had to work out and I lent him an ear." Julia knew Derek wouldn't ask for specifics considering the promise and so was just answering his question without doing so. And if Nick had told him then the promise would have been kept and could be discussed between Julia and Derek without it leaving between the two. _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
