"It can wait until Monday," Derek replied.  "After Amelia's born and your
feeling like working again...we'll work something out."

She shrugged, feeling an overwhelming sadness "Wouldn't matter, today or
Monday.  You've made the decision already."

The decision was a done deal.  She was either relieved of duty or, dress it
up a nicer way, being put on maternity leave.  Either way, the decision or
even the mock-appearance that she had been involved in the decision was a
farce.
