It could depend on how widespread IPv6 deployments are in a particular region, however would be great to see it tried. For instance looking at my close to home regions AU and NZ, I suspect there are enough servers available to easily serve the IPv6 load. AU pool entries = 45 IPv4 and 19 IPv6 NZ pool entries = 8 IPv4 and 4 IPv6 Assuming entries are equal, the IPv6 pool has 50 percent of pool capacity available when compared to IPv4. I would be very surprised if 50 percent of the NTP requests in our region would be requested by hosts on IPv6.
