Although I haven't been able to fix the root cause, I have found a
way around it by doing the following:

* Still let PP populate the _anyshort folder
* Still keep a *Format Context FileDialog list to handle the display
next to the open/save dialog but do some adjustments in it:
* In the list properties / Folder Buttons: check 'Use last button
for folder button command'
* Add a hidden command at the end of the list:*Script Assign x1
Replacechars(Replacechars(ReplaceChars(ReplaceChars
(_File_,"||",""),"%","\"),"!",":"),".lnk","")
*Keys {to folder}&(x1)

The above command should do the equivalent of executing the .lnk
file. In my case it did :-)

Erik.
