The main FACT is it was not able to do the job. Of course it depends if you want to hide the data from the IRS or your girlfriend/wife. If you want to be secure in respect of the IRS or any other goverment organization it might be better to keep the data not on the computer at all. There are many things like temporary files, swap files, hybernation files, deletion on the disks that have to be managed by those programs. Hard to verify if they really do a good job. And you still cannot be sure. Many users in addition handle those programs in a wrong way - starting with an easy to keep password already...
