Just be nice to have a few choices for users of dialog plugin to use for their elegant productions... > That way there is no need for people who install dialog.dll > to also install an additional icon set (which could also create > problems for your dll trying to find them, as users might put > them in various eccentric places). > You can rely on finding PowerPro.icl in the pprofolder. Well, actually in the powerpro installation folder, which ain;t necessarily the same thing -- but people can put it where they want it... > But first you need to choose 2 icons... > I have uploaded dialog_plugin_1.icl to > http://groups.yahoo.com/group/power-pro/sfupld?path=/Icons_and_cursors/ > which shows most of the possible suitable choices I have thought of. > The single question mark icon, which Powerpro uses for its > input dialogs, is included in that .icl for comparison. > > These are designed to be included in PP's default blue set. > I could also make two icons for each of the other distributed sets, > such as the set which uses Windows colors in four squares. Just a matter of giving dialop plugin users some options. The more options the merrier, I would have thought. > For now, let's just select two icons to go with the default blue set. > There are 2 main issues to consider: > > A: What are the most appropriate symbols? > B: How different or similar should they be to the current PowerPro > icons - particularly the question mark icon which PP uses for its > input dialogs? > > > A: What are the most appropriate symbols? > > This is kinda difficult because the dialog plugin offers so many > different controls such as checkboxes, radio buttons, drop down > lists, etc. We can't fit all that into 16x16 pixels! Users can use any old icon they want for their dialogs, and may wish to use stuff utterly different from powerpro (if for instance they want an eye-catching icon that instantly indicates dialog's purpose). One or two pp-like icons a good idea. > ------------------------------------------------- > > For the dialog layout manager, it seems obvious to add > cog wheels (used by pproconf) to whichever design you > choose for the dialogs themselves. > The "3symbols with cogs" icon if you choose the 3symbols icon; > or the "question with cogs" if you choose any of those designs > which retain the toolbar symbol along the top. Sure either, or both, ideally both. Many thanks. ------------------------ Yahoo! Groups Sponsor --------------------~--> Something is new at Yahoo! Groups.
