I decided to go with GDI+ to avoid the extra 1meg of download in PPro and the memory footprint of free image dll (assuming gdi+ will already be in memory and just needs to be mapped to PowerPro). For now, I think the only value add is to be able to alpha-blend png button labels into the background (or png backgrounds into a bar background color).
