Only with the background to the bar itself. To the best of my knowledge, a program cannot blend with other processes windows except by setting the window transparency, and it must be set to one value. So how does the system shadow do it? I don't know. Could be some combination of - setregion for rounded corners - a variable background colour. You could test this by having a gradient on the vertical shadow bar - an almost fully transparent background which displays a bit map which in turn as variable alpha with more blending at the edges Does anyone know?
