I don't know for sure, but lspci may enlighten you:

$ lspci | grep ICH4
00:1d.0 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801DB/DBL/DBM (ICH4/ICH4-L/ICH4-M) USB UHCI Controller #1 (rev 03) 00:1d.1 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801DB/DBL/DBM (ICH4/ICH4-L/ICH4-M) USB UHCI Controller #2 (rev 03) 00:1d.2 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801DB/DBL/DBM (ICH4/ICH4-L/ICH4-M) USB UHCI Controller #3 (rev 03) 00:1d.7 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801DB/DBM (ICH4/ICH4-M) USB2 EHCI Controller (rev 03) 00:1f.0 ISA bridge: Intel Corporation 82801DBM (ICH4-M) LPC Interface Bridge (rev 03) 00:1f.1 IDE interface: Intel Corporation 82801DBM (ICH4-M) IDE Controller (rev 03) 00:1f.3 SMBus: Intel Corporation 82801DB/DBL/DBM (ICH4/ICH4-L/ICH4-M) SMBus Controller (rev 03) 00:1f.5 Multimedia audio controller: Intel Corporation 82801DB/DBL/DBM (ICH4/ICH4-L/ICH4-M) AC'97 Audio Controller (rev 03) 00:1f.6 Modem: Intel Corporation 82801DB/DBL/DBM (ICH4/ICH4-L/ICH4-M) AC'97 Modem Controller (rev 03)

Some devices are the same on ICH4 and ICH4M as you can see, but the ISA device really gives it away, this looks like I've got an ICH4M. But I don't know if you can trust this completely, so if you find another way to tell let me know ;)

And ATM I don't really care what exactly it is, because it's working as it's supposed to...

hpet acpi_pm pit jiffies tsc

# grep hpet /proc/timer_list
Clock Event Device: hpet
 set_next_event: hpet_legacy_next_event
 set_mode:       hpet_legacy_set_mode

I really like this stuff, my CPU goes into C3 for up to 80ms...

This really is beautiful. Pentium-M 1400 with a patched 2.6.22-rc3 (I modified the 2.6.22-rc4-hrt2 with sed 's/-rc4/-rc3/g'). Now I'm down from about 50 wps to about 27. The cat and grep outputs look just like yours.
What I can't tell is whether I have ICH4 or ICH4M - how do I find out?
