That's nice, if it works. If it indeed works, do try to verify that there are no performance and power hits. (On the contrary, with 2.6.21 kernel quite some time back, my athlon64 x2 desktop wouldn't boot with dyn_ticks (no_hz), unless I supplied nolapic_timer. With nolapic, it would simply hang at boot. Looks that lapic is essential for smp systems. Btw, quite a few machines are known to have a buggy/broken lapic apparently.)

Any idea whats the device on irq22 ? > Also you may try if disabling rtc in the kernel does anything. My laptop boots with 'nolapic_timer' but acts weird afterwards, ie I couldn't execute anything (not even reboot) after playing some xmoto. IRQ22 is my wireless NIC (rt2500pci). Yay! Seems that 'nolapic' did the trick. Uptime is almost 2h now and no 80k wakeups in sight! Thank you very much! - Jan _______________________________________________ Power mailing list [email protected] http://www.bughost.org/mailman/listinfo/power --------------------------------- Don't let your dream ride pass you by.
