As far as I'm aware all PB power supplies are auto-sensing for voltage, so
as long as you stick the correct adapter on it it will work fine. And
whatever you've heard about power fluctuations in Europe isn't true, IMHO,
particularly when compared to those in the states. And I would be
particularly surprised if the Germans had a problem :-) (BTW, I'm in the UK
and don't use any sort of surge protection or backup power system at all, as
lightening strikes and brownouts are almost unknown. I'm now going to find
a large piece of wood to touch...)
Similarly with the camcorder - I used mine perfectly OK in Mexico, as well
as several European cities. Check the power supply - it should have a
voltage range marked on (typically 100-240V and 50/60Hz). So I'd just plug
in and go.
