Thanks for the responses. The card is a 28.8 PCMCIA modem card.
When it is inserted there is a PC Card icon on the desktop with the
Global Village logo in it. I have selected "Global Village Platinum"
card in the modem control panel.
I followed Mike's advice and ran Zterm. It recognised the card after
I selected PowerPort PC Card from the drop down menu. It confirmed
that the firmware version was 1.3x. I then quit Zterm and went back
to the Global Village folder and clicked on the firmware updater
program. I selected the PowerPort PC Card from the menu, and it
clicked and hummed, then told me that it couldn't update this type of
modem. The "ReadMe" clearly states that it can.
I'm confused.
Oh, and Mike, I downloaded the 3.06 upgrade after I was initially
unsuccessful at upgrading with the 3.02. No joy with either, though.
Besides the updater is only in 3.02 anyways!
If anybody has another suggestion, I am open to hearing it. The
Card works just fine at 28.8.
Thanks again.
