Well now that things have been running smoothly for a few weeks with the
Powerbook 5300cs, I hope to find a few answers that weren't in the manual.
I guess I'll just number them to make things easier for any of you who can
help out. All responses are very much appreciated.

1) Generally, how long should a Nimh batter last when in use? I am finding
that I get just about 2 hours use and then it gives me the 10 second
warning. Unfortunately not even able to save a document or quit an app, it
actually shuts down in about one-half second. Not enough time to do a
thing. It is a 1995 Apple batt so it could just be old. Is there a way to
recondition the NiMH battery? I thought I read something somewhere along
the way but for the life of me, I can't find it. If not, are ebay & similar
batteries labeled "new' trustworthy being they could also be a 7 year old
battery that has simply never been used? Is there a 'best' type to watch
for?

2) How warm should the underside of the pbook be when computer is being
used? Sometimes it seems pretty warm coming from the location of the drive.
Warm as in a little too warm to leave on lap all the time.

3) The Pbook came with a SCSI adapter G2000VU On/Off SCSI Dock. No
paperwork however. Doubtful but does anybody know if this model can be
plugged into back of p-book (while set to off) while the pbook is on?

4) Can someone guide me to the name of the little app that allows you to
switch between the heavy and light text selector? I switched it to heavy at
some point during the major install and now I think I may have accidentally
deleted the feature that did it and so can't reverse it. For the life of me
I can't remember the name of it either so can't find it in a search. Tried
all my obvious control panels but not there.

Thanks for the help.

Dave
