I just wanted to report that I am now successfully connected to the GPRS
wireless internet service offered by FIDO here in Canada using Novatel's
Merlin G100 pc card in my Powerbook G3 (Wallstreet). As we speak. <grin>

The problem turned out to be a fluky hardware problem - the Novatel card
itself. Once it was replaced everything worked out fine.

It was a bit of a challenge to get all the config info from FIDO and the
correct modem script from Novatel, but Novatel's customer service was
awesome.

If anyone needs help getting this working please free to contact me. (So far
this is the only GPRS PC card I've found that works on the Mac platform -
Sierra Wireless's cards are Wintel only)
