Try looking in the preference files in the system folder. Look for "Empower Prefs" or something like that. Delete it, or even just remove it from the prefs folder. Most passwords are stored in preference files.
Wait, problem - if the hard disk is password protected, that must mean that it's not available to open up or modify. My bad. Maybe reformatting it would do the trick? A drastic measure, but it would probably do the trick. First try starting up without extensions (hold down shift at startup).
