Have any Canadians on the list found a Canadian source for replacement powerbook batteries that do not seem to be VERY expensive? Or am I just screwed :-) ?
The best price for my PB1400 battery that I have found is $200 (+taxes = $28 and shipping = variable), which is almost half what my book is worth on the market. I find comparable batteries (voltage, etc.) for $79-99 (= about 150 CND) advertised in the US - unfortunately all the places I have seen on the web either have a minimum dollar value for shipping to Canada ($500 or so) or charge an extra $20-$30 US for shipping (which partly explains higher CND prices) and I am not sure if I would have to pay duty on it as well. Anyway, thought I would check. Since this is about businesses and money, I think proper netiquette would be to be to reply to me directly, not to the list.
