I thought of an interesting run-around on the issue of a dead laptop battery
(especially when the replacements are either too expensive or too old to be
reliable!)...

I use Powerbook Duos extensively and exclusively when I am on the road, so U
know off the bat I am dealing with antiquated equipment. Anyway, needless to
say my batteries are all at the point where they can hold a charge for about
three minutes(!), but they seem to be able to provide power to the
non-running Duo long enough to keep my PR battery and prefs good...

Anyway, I recently bought one of those UPS battery backup power strips that
are supposed to keep a desktop (w/ monitor) powered up for 10-15 minutes
after a power loss. I plan to use it as a mobile power source in my computer
bag for my duos, but I am wondering how long would/should it be able to power
a duo laptop? I would ASSUME that it would have to be longer than the 10-15
minutes it can power an entire desktop system...

...right?!? ;-)
