I get a message about the system not being able to communicate WITH THE MODEM.
In fact, it does not generate a phone call at all. It seems MAC is not able to
communicate with the PC-Card modem.

Best regards,

Hi Jose,

So try the control panels. I would try first the Modem control panel if there
is one. It is possible a modem script is missing. Next, I would look at
Remote Access control panel to determine that the proper port, like the
cardbus port, is selected. Then I would look at the TCP/IP panel to determine
that the proper card is selected. Mine says the name of the card in the
"connect via" section. Of course, I am using 8.6, so the panels may not be
exactly the same.

Dan
