Correct. The bug didn't cause any problem with Apple hardware, and hence has
never been addressed by Apple. It was fixed in Mac OS 9.1

9.0.4 was crashy as hell for me on my Sonnet 333/1M. 9.1 has been stable,
though. I never tried any of the eights on it.
