Thanks, Bruce and Drew (yes, you were the one, thanks again)! The 
RAM-card looked seated alright, but after removing it the 
aforementioned problems have (apparently, knocking on wood) ceased. 
Do you think it was just the seating or could the card have gone bad? 
(I have checked it with TechTool 2 and no problems showed up)
