Applications are readily found all over the place:
<http://www.tucows.com> is a good starting place for shareware apps, as
is the Info-Mac archives :
<http://hyperarchive.lcs.mit.edu/HyperArchive.html>

Connecting it to your iMac is pretty easy, since both have ethernet.
(The 500 series of powerbooks were among the first laptops to have
ethernet built-in, btw.)

You need to get a AAUI to 10-baseT tranciever, like shown here:
<http://www.welovemacs.com/pn502a.html>, then connect to your iMac's
ethernet port with a Ethernet cable. If your new iMac is truly a *new*
(ie: G4) iMac, the ethernet port is autosensing and will properly connect.

If it's actually an older iMac and only new to you, you will need a
crossover ethernet cable to connect them. If you're running System 8.1
you may have to download an updated version of Appleshare; I'm running
Appleshaer 3.8. I don't remember if I upgraded from what was in system
8.1 or what. IN any case it's readily available on Apples' web site,
