Of course the privilege of unlimited posting can lead to abuses, but it hasn't happened on *this* list -- quite the contrary, the most knowledgeable members seem to contribute the most frequently, and often in little bursts of helpfulness as they try to solve three or four people's problems simultaneously. It seems a shame to squelch this. Could things be set up so that postings over a certain number *might* (at the option of a listnanny, say) be cut off, rather than having it happen automatically? Thus providing a big stick to wave at malefactors if needed without interfering with normal give and take.
