Thanks !!!!! I am now waiting for my SCSI adapter so I can use a CD rom on the 5300 to load things to it

Hi John,
Simply use Apple's "Disk Copy" (ver. 6.3.x - this presumes you're not
thinking of an OS X environment) available at their ftp site:

http://download.info.apple.com/Apple_Support_Area/Apple_Software_Updates/Eng>lish-North_American/Macintosh/Utilities/Disk_Copy/

launch the app., go to the "Image" menu (in the top task bar), select
"create image from disk" and select your mounted CD as the intended disk.
You'll have a choice to select compressed or uncompressed; imho, compressed
doesn't really save you a lot of room, and mounting that uncompressed image
later on is much faster. After creating the image, leave the image stored on
your HD; click on it to mount its represented CD for future use, and off you
go. If your HD has the room, it's a great way to go - the HD's response will
always be multiple times faster than the fastest CD-ROM could ever hope to
be. Great for games, really great for encyclopedias and such.
An excellent suggestion from Clark.
Best regards,
Dana
