I've found the utility "ADB Parser" (a quick Google ought to turn up a 
copy) a very handy tool for troubleshooting ADB bus issues. If a "Reinit" 
of the bus doesn't fix it then almost certainly your problem lies with 
the ADB device.

A 'new' ADB mouse can be had for _very_ little $$ nowadays, so I'd just 
suggest locating another mouse may solve your problem.
