Thanks Ric and Clark and everybody who chipped in. Got it going (as usual,
operator error over here). Now, what I'm trying to do is get a larger HD
running in the 520c which till now had only 120 mgs. I have a 5 gig and a
"converter" board that converts IDE to SCSI but I can't get the machine to
see the IDE drive as yet. I have a SCSI external drive hooked up and the
machine boots and runs (pretty snappy too) OS 8.1 off it, but Drive Setup,
SCSI Probe Mount EveryThing, stc. Do not see the 5 gig. It spins up. Is
there a termination issue? The "converter" board has a dual clip that turns
the drive around on a 1 for 1 plug (IDE off the drive to IDE on the
board) and then has a SCSI pin set at the other end, and it all seems to
function, but the drive is neither seen nor (obviously) mounted. (probably
has no Mac volume to see or mount) Question. Do the SCSI pins beside the
hook up possibly need (some or one set of them) to be jumped?
