I have a PB1400 OS8.6 and a G4 desktop with OS 10.2.8 with a wireless network using a router. i can access the internet with both of them but can not transfer and files. Using the PB > chooser > server address > I need to add a password. I tried to set the password using the letter "a" on the G4 but that does not work. I want to transfer files between the two computers. How can I set a usable password?
Have you created a new user on the G4? Or are you logging in as the main G4 user from the PB? I have users on my G4 iMac for all the portables around here, so just typing in the IP address and their own passwords allows them to connect.
