Er, bad mouse? Now I have something new to worry over. What's wrong with the G3 iBook mouse? & what's a AEKII?
The iMac mouse (I assume that is what you mean) is shaped like a hockey puck and is horrible to use. It's even recognized as a "Road Apple" product on Low End Mac, meaning it's one of Apple's major faux pas over the years. A friend of mine had one on her G4 Sawtooth (it was still in use even then), and I immediately replaced it with a Logitech Marble Mouse and she told me her productivity went up a lot. AEKII--Apple Extended Keyboard II. Shipped on Macs with ADB ports before Steve Jobs came back and introduced fruity-colored Macs, USB and the G3 processor. It was big, roomy, and had great tactile feedback because it used top-of-the-line keyswitches. Far superior, IMO, to any Mac keyboard I've seen since. Macally later made a third-party keyboard based on its internal design, only with a USB interface. Check it out: http://homepage.mac.com/mruben/macstuff/PhotoAlbum25.html. The site owner calls it the "Lexus of ADB keyboards." -- PowerBooks is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
