Sometimes the battery is so faulty that it will not let the brick start the machine. Try removing the battery but leave the brick plugged into the machine. Good luck. -----Original Message----- From: William Damkoehler <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Mon, 04 Apr 2005 17:43:25 To:PowerBooks <[email protected]> Subject: Re: PB1400c won't start

Perhaps your powerbrick isn't functioning or not securely plugged into the machine (or, if it's a yo-yo style, the power cord isn't firmly plugged into the yo-yo. I've heard that sometimes even the wires from the yo-yo separate and become useless.) And now maybe you're attempting to start it up on a dead battery - thinking you've got power from the wall. These powerbricks do fail, and unless you had a fresh battery on hand it would be impossible to start up the machine - or to really know what the problem is. Do you have a multi-tester or voltmeter? You could test the leads on the end terminal of the DC supply coming from your powerbrick and see if you've got juice... Good luck. -Bill -- PowerBooks is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
