Alternate that works for me with my 540c and iMac G4 and TiBook and
Pismo:
Create a new user on the G4. I have users for all my computer names.
Make sure that you change permissions on the Drop Box so that
anyone (you) can put files in there. Maybe make an alias of it on
your desktop.
Find out the IP address of the G4 (System Preferences/Network/TCP-IP)
On the 520c, open Chooser. Use the Connect via IP button and type
in the IP address of the G4. In the connection box, connect as
whatever new user and password you just created. Now you'll be able
to see the Drop Box in that user's Home folder. Open that and
you're sharing files.
It's an extra step to copy a file into the Drop Box, but that's the
free way of doing things. Shareway IP just cut their price in about
half when they learned that OSX could no longer connect via AFP/AT,
expecting a lot of new customers from the LEM-users out there.

Thanks for this simple and elegant solution. I can't justify spending
$29 to do all this, but it's worth holding on to my old book if I can
do the simple things free.
