Since I got no response on the list to my question about screen dimness, I replaced the screen with a used one. It looks much better but now crashes the machine when I close the lid while it's on. The only way to get it to come back on is to push the reset button on the back. Anyone got any ideas on this? Or everybody's got new laptops for Christmas and no longer care about 1400s?
