The older PowerBooks are better looking, by far. Let me rephrase that, the G3 Lombard and Pismo are better looking than the Ti and Al 'Books. Yes, I admit, I think the Lombard and Pismo were the best looking 'Books, by far. I actually use my Lombard more than my 190, but that's because I needed more of a replacement for my desktop than anything.

I have a fairly new Windoze machine with a nice 2.2 GHz processor and DVD burner, yet I still prefer my Lombard with the 400 MHz processor and DVD-ROM, running OS X Jaguar.

Lastly even if i got a new laptop for christmas it would not stop me using my 520 (parts mac) my 2400 powerbook or my 3400 powerbook, as i like the older books best, and only use my G4 Ti if it is something i cannot do on my 2400 or 3400. and thats not much the Ti is more of a sitting on the desk pretty thing at the moment, complimenting the mini connected to a 20" LCD, Also rather than getting a new mac (which would of been cheaper) i got my Daughter a G4 Tower D A, and an apple LCD and maxed it all out, as i even like the look of the older desktops. (would of got her a cube if i could of found one in time). What you need to remember is that even though in the windows world, This weeks new spec is outdated next week by a newer spec. Macs tend to stay current for a while and as you use a 1400 you know yourself that they are usable even when they get old (in the world of computing) where as the windows box's tend to give up the ghost.
Plus its a MAC and you gotta luv it.

Since I got no response on the list to my question about screen dimness, I replaced the screen with a used one. It looks much better but now crashes the machine when I close the lid while it's on. The only way to get it to
come back on is to push the reset button on the back.
Anyone got any ideas on this? Or everybody's got new laptops for Christmas
and no longer care about 1400s?
