OK, I'll take the bait :)

My *MAIN* machine is a Powerbook 5300 w/ 6 Gb HD, 56Mb RAM, Lapis 24-bit
videocard/ethernet module, running on OS 8.5, and is on it's second battery.

"Raven" is in daily use for literally everything, including banking, running
emulators, mail/news, web design, playing MP3s, Internet radio, and running
games.  I even used it in self-defence once (seriously).

Apart from running Media Player 7, and the fact it doesn't have an internal
CDrom drive or 800 x 600 colour display, it'd fit Shawn's requirements...

But seriously, save for a Lombard or similar.  A 5300 is only great if
you're patient...
