John Perkins writes, <Would a 5300c be a satisfactory replacement for a 520c? Could I find one with a working battery and are the batteries easier to fix? I was looking on eBay and they seem to be cheaper than the 1400s, so it looks like I would be able to afford one for $50. But sometimes looks can be decieving. Thanks.>
If you're willing to live with the idea that the 5300s have the same weakness as the 190s when it comes to the AC adapter input, yeah, I would definitely recommend a 5300c for you. I've got one myself. It's beautiful and wonderful -- and since I have a boyfriend who knows how to make the aforementioned type of repair -- which it now needs, I'm still not sorry I bought it. I got mine for $30 plus shipping off the Swap List. ~Yersinia. ________ "Lead me not into temptation, I can find the way myself." -- PowerBooks is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
