Thanks all for your suggestions and support. I have the Jackhammer
1.3 control panel, so if I install 8.6, I should have no problems...
"In theory, Marge..." as Homer Simpson would say... But seriously, it
sounds reasonable.
As for processor upgrades, there's a part of me that really wants to
do this and keep my beloved and first Mac, but I'm runnin' outta
space in my tiny home office, and that newfangled tiBook thingie is
callin' at me louder than front-row seats at a MacWorld keynote.
My "business manager" (thrifty hubby) sez I can have the tiBook but I
have to sell something first. So I was thinking of putting up my PT
for sale on eBay. What do you think such a machine would be worth?
Would include 17 inch PT monitor, Labtec speakers, external scsi zip,
external scsi jaz, external scsi CD burner, and external scsi DDT-2
tape backup (with 4-tape bulk loader -- each tape holds 4 gig).
Could also include Media100 qx card (original vincent 601 pci). The
M100 is untested with OS 8.6, so I cannot vouch for its ability to
function, but would test this before I posted the sale and if it
didn't work, I'd sell the M100 card separately. I would also include
full legal versions of Premiere 5.1c, Photoshop 4.0, Retrospect,
Illustrator 8.1, Adobe GoLive 4.1, After Effects 3.0. Without the
M100 card, this system by itself could be a great entry-level,
hobbyist, training NLE, just by adding an Aurora Fuse or similar card.
The more I look at that list the less I want to sell, but I could
really use the tiBook because a lot of video gigs I do now would be
so much easier to do with a Road Warrior rig.
Any suggestions appreciated. If you are interested in buying my PT,
please don't post to the list. Write to me directly. Thanx.
Sabrina
