I seem to remember reading somewhere that if I tried to install Mac
OS 8.6 on a Mac with an ultrawide SCSI PCI adapter card, I'd need to
get software to update the firmware on the card before I could do
this, otherwise the Mac would crash on startup... or something like
that...
Questions:
1) Is this true?
2) Does it affect my system?
3) Can I fix this?
4) Should I not bother upgrading?
FTR, my system:
PowerComputing PowerTower Pro 225, 604e processor, 256mb RAM, 2 2gig
narrow SCSI on internal SCSI bus (one is system drive), 2 18gig
seagate barracudas on PCI JackHammer (SE-B) Slot F2, USB PCI card,
Media100 card (vincent 601, "dormant" -- works fine but not being
used -- will be for sale soon), twinturbo 128 pci graphics.
